Nhot, a 39-year-old unmarried woman, makes a living by engaging in petty theft. She resides in a poor laborer’s neighborhood with her alcoholic father, Xin. With a strong desire to become a mother, Nhot hastily sets out to find a husband, and throughout this journey, she longs to reconcile with her perpetually intoxicated father.
