As I've got used to US accent and BBC accent, I felt shocked when I began to watch UK soap series "Hollyoaks", in that the accents of the castings were so various that I could hardly catch the lines. You have no idea how much I felt frustrated and disappointed with the fact. But because of the lauds the series received, I pushed myself through it even though without any subtitle. gradually I got used to the strange dialect, and understood the plot. I believe once you've made up your mind to do something, just go for it whatever difficulties you would get, and you will find yourself achieving the aim finally.
To be honest, from the outset, I was not so interested in this series just because I had seen some pictures of John Paul and Craig. And I felt Craig was a guy with a mediocre face not for my taste. God who the hell knows that when I've finished the show, he is the favorite boy of mine?
The story begins with Craig being teased by one classmate and then being rescued by John Paul. Then they become mates going to school and playing together. When Craig falls in love with a pretty girl Sarah, John Paul gives some advices how to chast girls. and Craig hope John Paul to relate with Sarah's best friend Hannah so that he can get the chance to contact with Sarah. Then two couples begin to play together. but surprisingly John Paul finds himself having no feelings for Hannah, on the contrary, he feels jealous watching Craig with Sarah. Then in Hannah's birthday party, John Paul is out of control, and tells Craig the truth that he is in love with craig. so the relationship between them becomes delicate, although craig refuses John Paul's love, but he can't stop keeping watching John Paul. then John Paul's first boyfriend comes up, which makes craig upset and distracted. then he escapes from an exam and goes to Jaul Paul's, condemn John Paul for stopping loving him. then he is cring and tell Jaul Paul that he can't stop thinking about him and he want him. They kiss together and get laid. But afterwards Craig can't accept that he's slept with a man, and always thinks himself a staight man, so he refuses to admit he's gay, and doesn't want to split with Sarah. John Paul keeps asking Craig to be honest and terminate relationship with Sarah. They always quarrel with anger and then end up reconciling by Craig's kiss. The state continues until the engagement of Craig and Sarah when Sarah comes across the scene of Craig making out with John paul. at last Criag makes the choice that he loves John Paul more than Sarah, and he wants to be with John Paul. But he still refuses to admit he is gay because he has no feeling for any other man but John Paul. At the last moment, John Paul feels disappointed and breaks up with Craig at the airport when waiting for flight for dublin. One year later, after craig gets clear about himself and the feeling for John Paul, he comes back for resuming relationship with John Paul. Of course the sunset ending comes.
I can't believe I've written down so much about the series. I have to highlight that I agree with craig's thought that he only gets in love with John Paul and he isn't gay. Because John Paul is his best friend ever and he relies on John Paul all the time. For all the reasons he's gradually in love with John Paul after John Paul've confessed to him. emotion is always complicated, you have no idea when and how it happens. And you have no way to control yourself staying away from it. sometimes It makes you delighted, and the other time it makes you desperate.
